Born, reared, and educated in Mississippi, Beverly A. Stubblefield, Ph. D., became a Psychologist by the grace of God. In 1984, she earned her Ph. D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Mississippi. She has helped thousands of individuals by providing services in mental health settings, including outpatient community mental health, inpatient psychiatry and substance abuse intervention. All of this lifelong commitment and work abruptly changed in 2017. This did not destroy her goals but inspired her to continue helping others, so she wrote a book of inspiration.

Dr. Stubblefield's current book is patterned after the Apostle Paul's letters from prison. LETTERS TO PRISON is a compilation of letters, scriptures, and prayers sent while she was incarcerated in a Federal Correctional facility. It was in prison that Dr. Stubblefield, like Paul, felt the presence of the Lord and gained hope, peace, and joy from reading these letters from Christian friends and family. The letters in this book remind us that we are all loved by God and He can deliver us from any type of prison, including physical and mental illness, dysfunctional relationships, or the stress and strains of everyday life. LETTERS TO PRISON also describes symptoms of various emotional prisons and presents instructions for resolving feelings of imprisonment. While the prison you experience may not be razor wire and steel bars, LETTERS TO PRISON presents words of reassurance and release for everyone.

The pandemic of 2020-2021 left most of us feeling imprisoned in one way or another. Some of us were actually incarcerated. Your prison may not be bars of steel or razor wire. Your prison may be that of sin, addiction, illness, or trauma. But there is hope! There is nothing more encouraging than God's Word, but sometimes we become so imprisoned to our feelings or circumstances that we cannot hear Him. We must rely on others to remind us that we all are loved. That's what this book is all about-reminding us that God can deliver us from any type of prison. Patterned after the Apostle Paul's letters from prison, LETTERS TO PRISON consists of excerpts and scripture from letters sent to the author by loving friends and family while incarcerated. Hopefully, these letters of encouragement and faith bring release, joy, and hope to others as well.
When everyone has settled down for the night, the horses at The Equestrian Therapy Center talk with each other about their day, the people they've helped, the challenges they've confronted, and the fun they've had. BEDTIME STORIES FROM THE BARN and MORE BEDTIME STORIES FROM THE BARN are based on actual experiences. Since they are "straight from the horses' mouths", the author has taken liberty to embellish the facts. The stories are to be read nightly by a parent, caretaker, or loved one to children ages six to twelve. Each story has a psychological lesson based on Biblical principles. Each Story is designed to teach coping strategies, to provide insights into emotional and spiritual safety and security, and to promote sweet dreams for all attentive ears.
