Dr. Beverly Stubblefield opened The Equestrian Therapy Center of Slidell, Louisiana, in the aftermath of hurricane Katrina.  The unique approach of equine assisted psychotherapy helped children and their families overcome fear and anxiety resulting from the hurricane.  This Key Innovation of using horses in the treatment of emotional and behavioral disorders won the New Orleans City Business Innovator award in 2007.  Experiences from the Equestrian Therapy Center and the horses themselves prompted the writing of her books.  She earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Mississippi and holds a Diploma in Biblical Studies from Samford University.  After 30 years of clinical practice, Dr. Stubblefield is now retired and living with her husband Burt Kemp in rural North Mississippi, where she continues to enjoy writing, riding horses, and playing the organ at her church.

While in high school, she felt God's call to become a Psychologist.  Through His grace, she received a Ph. D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Mississippi in 1984.  After working in a variety of mental health settings, including outpatient community mental health, inpatient psychiatry, and substance abuse intervention, Dr. Stubblefield maintained a private practice in Slidell, Louisiana, for thirty years.  Dr. Stubblefield specialized in treating personality disorders, cognitive behavior therapy, and equine-assisted psychotherapy.  Dr. Stubblefield's practice abruptly ended in the spring of 2017 when she became a victim of the judicial system and was incarcerated at a federal prison camp for thirty months.  There, she taught Life Management Skills, Piano, and Ping-pong.  Her book, LETTERS TO PRISON, reflects the experiences of incarceration similar to those of the Apostle Paul.  Since her release, Dr. Stubblefield has become an author, writing inspirational books.
